Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist
Relationships are often where we feel the deepest connection and also the most pain. Many couples and families come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of conflict, emotional distance, or repeated misunderstandings, unsure how to find their way back to one another. My goal is to help you slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and rebuild connection in a way that feels safe, respectful, and sustainable.
I specialize in couples and family therapy, working with relationships experiencing stress, communication breakdowns, trust issues, emotional disconnection, parenting challenges, grief, trauma, and life transitions. I also work with individuals who want to better understand their relational patterns and improve how they show up in their closest relationships.
With over 20 years of clinical experience across California, British Columbia, and Ontario, I bring a depth of training and perspective to my work with individuals, couples, and families. I have supported clients from diverse cultural, social, and community backgrounds, including extensive experience working with Indigenous individuals and families, always through a culturally informed and trauma-sensitive lens.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that healing happens within safe, supportive relationships. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, Mindfulness approaches, Polyvagal Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Brainspotting. I tailor therapy to each client or couple's unique needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
A central focus of my work is helping couples strengthen emotional connection and communication. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, and I use these approaches to help partners move out of cycles of conflict and into greater understanding and closeness. As a Gottman Leader, I also facilitate workshops and couples groups based on The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, helping couples build practical skills for long-term relationship success.
My training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) provides a neurobiological understanding to support clinicians and caregivers in developing treatment plans for children and families impacted by developmental and intergenerational trauma.
Clients often describe my style as calm, grounded, and deeply attentive. I work to create a space where difficult conversations can happen safely, and where new ways of relating can be practiced and strengthened over time.
If your relationship feels strained or you are unsure how to move forward, therapy can offer a structured and supportive path toward reconnection and healing. I would be honoured to work with you.
