About

When a young person is struggling, it rarely stays contained to just one person in the family. Parents often describe feeling worried, exhausted, or unsure how to help, while teens may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or disconnected from the people who care about them most. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where adolescents and families feel heard, respected, and supported as they work through challenges together.

I work with adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, school-related stress, identity development challenges, substance use concerns, and difficulties in peer or family relationships. I also support parents and caregivers who are trying to better understand their teen, rebuild connection, and feel more confident in how they respond during stressful moments. Therapy can be a space for clarity, practical tools, and renewed hope when things at home feel stuck or overwhelming.

Families do not come with instruction manuals, and even strong relationships can become strained during periods of stress or change. I help adolescents and parents improve communication, reduce conflict, rebuild trust, and strengthen their relationships in ways that feel more connected and sustainable. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping families move from cycles of frustration toward greater understanding and stability.

One of my greatest strengths is supporting high-risk youth and families facing complex challenges. Through extensive experience working within the criminal justice system, I have supported adolescents and families navigating behavioural concerns, trauma, substance use, emotional dysregulation, school involvement, and difficult life circumstances. This work has reinforced my belief that even in the most challenging situations, young people have strengths, resilience, and the capacity for meaningful change. I understand that behaviour often reflects underlying unmet needs, emotional pain, or past experiences, and I work to help families shift from judgment and conflict toward understanding, accountability, and growth.

As a therapist, I bring a culturally responsive and inclusive approach to my work. I recognize that culture, identity, family values, and lived experiences deeply shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the challenges we face. I am committed to providing a space where clients from all backgrounds feel respected and understood, with particular awareness of the experiences of racialized communities and multicultural families. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself and feel seen without judgment.

My therapeutic approach is individualized and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Therapy. Together, we work to understand what is contributing to current challenges while building practical strategies that support emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and healthier relationships over time.

Reaching out for support takes courage, and finding the right therapist can make a meaningful difference. I strive to create an environment where adolescents and families feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first session. If you are ready to take the next step toward change, I would be honoured to work alongside you.
